4. IIIF Timeliner in Avalon

Description:
A lightning talk at Samvera Virtual Connect 2019 described thus and The Timeliner is a pedagogical tool that was available in the old Variations application, the Avalon predecessor. It allows for a visual representation of the structure of an audio file or fragment. The tool, which will be made available as a standalone, has been reimplemented using IIIF Presentation API v3 for the presentation layer and the IIIF Auth protocol for the integration with Avalon. We will show the tool and also discuss the technical aspects of the IIIF standards.

5. Creating javascript components to provide rich user experiences for search and browse

Description:
Modern javascript frameworks like React and Vue facilitate building dynamic, rich user interfaces (like thematic sites or research tools). In this lightning talk, we'll show how we each built search components using these frameworks which use the Blacklight API but not the Blacklight UI. We'll also discuss how these components are being utilized and possibilities for making shared community javascript components. 6. DOIng more with Hyrax

Description:
A lightning talk (seven minute) presentation given at Samvera Connect 2020 On-line described thus and Hyrax-doi is a new Hyrax plugin that provides tooling for working with DOIs including model attributes, minting, and fetching descriptive metadata. This presentation will give a quick tour of the features and how to use it in hopes of sparking conversation about how to improve it and its integration with Hyrax. This is part of the Advancing Hyku project's work on extracting and contributing back features from Ubiquity Press' Repositories platform originally developed for the British Library. 8. Ubiquity repositories architecture: Highly scalable Hyku in the cloud

Ubiquity repositories, which are based on Hyku, are designed to be highly scalable, highly reliable and quick to deploy in the cloud. In this presentation we will outline the technical architecture we have implemented, along with the challenges faced. These include scalability, security, cost-efficiency, performance, reliability, resilience, portability, delivery pipelines for code deployment, error reporting, testing and localization. 9. Avalon and IIIF for Audio and Video

Description:
For the past year, Avalon Media System has worked alongside members of the IIIF Community to co-develop the specifications for IIIF Presentation API version 3. This version moves beyond the two-dimensional image plane to include audio and video within the scope of media which can utilize IIIF to describe and manage content for use and re-use both with Avalon and by any viewer capable of presenting an object with a IIIF manifest. Avalon is excited about the possibilities for incorporating shareable structural metadata, as well as the ability to incorporate metadata along the timeline of time-based media. We will provide an overview of IIIF and the application of IIIF to AV content, including structural metadata and other features derived from the IIIF API.
